BMX Steering Components
Maintain Control With the Correct BMX Steering Equipment
For any BMX cyclist, it is crucial to have a setup that reacts precisely as required. This is the role of the steering. Like all BMX parts, the equipment is designed to be robust and long-lasting.
While your turning will be done using handlebars, numerous components affect your steering. For example, the fork plays a key role in determining how responsive your steering feels. Additionally, the top cap maintains your headset's position, ensuring the bars can rotate effortlessly.
Is It Possible to Raise BMX Handlebars?
In most cases, indeed! All you need are BMX Tools and an Allen key. To commence, you should loosen the screws that secure the stem. Following this, you will want to loosen the compression bolt. Once these are slackened, simply remove the stem from the steering tube.
Next, adjust the bars to your desired height with the assistance of spacers. Just add as many spacers to your steering tube as needed until your bar and stem reach the preferred height.
Once satisfied with the adjustment, reposition the stem and secure it tightly. Finally, align the stem so the handlebar is parallel with the fork. However, if spacers are insufficient to achieve the desired height, consider using a taller bar or a top load stem with greater rise.
