Installing a BMX Stem: A Guide
Fitting a BMX stem is straightforward, and we've simplified it further with our step-by-step video guide for installing a Freestyle BMX stem:
- Position the stem onto the fork and confirm there's a 2-3mm gap to allow the top cap to securely press the stem down onto the headset.
- Insert a spacer between the headset and the stem if there's no gap or if it is less than required.
- Add grease to your top cap's threads and secure it using an Allen key.
- Ensure the front wheel and stem are aligned correctly, then tighten the bolts on the side of the stem.
- Gradually tighten the side bolts, alternating between them to ensure uniform tightening.
And there you have it! Your stem is ready, allowing you to proceed with attaching the handlebars!
