The brand's founder, Jan Welch, is a significant figure in the skater scene of the USA. His journey into skating commenced in 1991, with a visionary aim to bring together the skater community. He was instrumental in the development of Scum Magazine, which, within two years, evolved into a global sensation, highlighting aggressive skating, its associated lifestyle, music, and art. Scum Magazine was active from 1995 to 1999.
Jan is perhaps most recognised for his video contributions. In 2005, his creation "Leading the Blind" was awarded "Video of the Year" by the French blog Pello Mag.
