Sunrise kendama originates from the Netherlands, where they produce all kendamas using locally-sourced wood. The distinction between Sunrise and Ozora is not limited to the wood; the design differs, too. The spike at Sunrise kendamaer is smaller, and the paint on the ball offers a more "sticky" sensation—this is particularly beneficial for performing lighthouse tricks.

The Sunrise kendama XL is crafted in the same manner as their standard kendama; however, it's double the size. One advantage of a well-made kendama is that its weight and balance make it somewhat easier for trick execution. This makes it suitable for both novices and seasoned players.
