Children's BMX Bicycles
What is a Children's BMX Bicycle?
A children's BMX bicycle is essentially a smaller version of a full-sized BMX, designed for younger riders. These bikes are created with true BMX geometry to guarantee a high-quality product, allowing your child to experience the authentic BMX sensation. Much like the larger BMX models, children's BMX are robust, swift, and lightweight, and they are made from either steel or aluminium.
These bicycles can be purchased as a complete setup, meaning they are ready to be ridden straight out of the packaging. However, as your child progresses in their BMX journey, they might wish to personalise their bike with individual components.
Which BMX Size is Correct for my Child?
To maximise their enjoyment, it's essential for your child to have a correctly sized bicycle. This is generally based on your child's height. The taller they are, the larger the model they will require. A BMX's size is usually defined by its wheel size and top tube (the upper bar of the frame) measurements.
For children's BMX, wheel diameters typically come in sizes of 12, 14, 16, and 18 inches. Top tubes are available in a range of sizes, from approximately 11 to 19 inches. You can explore more details on obtaining the correct sizing in our BMX Freestyle Size Chart.
Have You Considered Balance Bicycles?
In our children's BMX section, you will also discover our range of balance bicycles. These bikes provide your child with an excellent foundation for honing their balance while riding on driveways or at parks. They are crafted with the youngest riders in mind, suitable for those as young as two years old.
Always remember, when riding a BMX, it's important that your child wears protective equipment. Take a look at our array of Children's BMX Protection.
