Soul Plates and Soul Frames
Everything You Need to Know About Soul Plates, Soul Frames, and Grindplates
As an aggressive skater, you're aware of the significant role grinding and sliding play in the sport. In this category, you can explore our range of soul plates, grind plates, and soul frames. Be it on the street or at the skate park, consistent grinding wears down your skates, necessitating eventual part replacements.
Grindplates are installed in the groove at the centre of the skate, enabling you to "lock on" to a rail and grind centrally on the boot. Soul frames are positioned between the boot and the frame, with soul plates, or sliders, attaching here. This extends the frame aspect of the setup, making it possible to grind using the boot's side in addition to the heel.
Although grind plates and soul plates are primarily linked to aggressive skating, a few freeskate models can accommodate soul plates. Additionally, there are now grind blocks on the market designed to be fitted to quad skates.
Whatever equipment you require for your skates, ensure they are compatible with your current setup. The most reliable method to confirm this is by selecting a model produced by the same brand as your skate.
Another crucial element impacting the feel of your grind is your frames. If you suspect it's time for an update, visit our Aggressive Skate Frames page.
