Surfskate Bearings
Glide the Streets Seamlessly With Surfskate Bearings
A decent set of bearings is crucial for a smooth ride on your surfskate. Bearings are commonly evaluated using the ABEC scale, which rates the precision and accuracy of the bearings. This scale ranges from 1 to 9, with higher numbers indicating a higher degree of precision. Typically, bearings are crafted from steel or ceramics.
What Is the Process for Cleaning Surfskate Bearings?
Initially, detach the wheels from the trucks using your skate tool, followed by extracting the bearings from the wheels. After that, remove the rubber shields with a sharp tool, such as a knife.
Subsequently, immerse the bearings in a jar or use a specialised bearing cleaner with an alcohol or acetone solution. Shake the container for about 10 seconds, or until the solution appears dirty. After shaking, take out the bearings and allow them to dry. To ensure they are spotless, give them a spin. Do they spin smoothly? Lastly, lubricate them with bearing oil. You are all set to reassemble your setup and hit the streets again.
