Cruiser Decks
Defining a Cruiser Deck
Cruiser decks are crafted in the style of the iconic 1970s skateboards. Much like that classic period, these decks stand out with their chic designs and vibrant graphics. A major difference from contemporary skateboard decks is their directional shape, featuring a flat nose and a tail kick. Additionally, they often have a gentler concave or none at all.
As the title implies, cruiser decks are built for leisurely rides around town. Although some basic tricks are feasible, the deck's design is not intended for more complex stunts.
Choosing the Right Deck Size for Cruising
Your choice in size ultimately depends on personal preference. Cruiser decks typically range from 25 to 34 inches in length and 7.5-10 inches in width. Shorter decks suit younger or smaller riders, whereas mid-sized decks accommodate riders of any skill level or age.
While cruiser decks serve a purpose similar to some longboard decks, they benefit from a more compact size, which is advantageous in bustling urban environments. A mini cruiser deck, comparable in size to a Penny Board, might also be worth considering.
