Skate Wax & Grind Wax
Purpose of Skate Wax
Skate wax, often referred to as curb wax or grind wax, is used to help your skateboard glide and grind with ease during tricks. Typically crafted from a paraffin base, this wax lessens friction and smooths surfaces, making it easier to execute moves like 50/50s and boardslides.
Adding wax can significantly enhance your skating experience. Numerous rails, curbs, and ledges become “skateable” with just a touch of wax, allowing you to skate across a broader range of surfaces.
Applying Skate Wax
Skateboard wax can be applied both beneath your board and on the surfaces you intend to grind and slide on. To apply, simply rub some wax onto the area where you plan to perform tricks, as well as on the underside of your board.
With skate wax, the more you apply, the slipperier the surface (and your board) becomes. Thus, it’s advised to start with small amounts and test it out. If it doesn’t feel sufficiently smooth, you can always add more. If wax isn’t available, another way to achieve a smoother ride is by fitting Skateboard Deck Rails. These will help diminish friction and extend the life of your deck.
