Steps to Affix Snowboard Stomp Pads
Snowboard stomp pads enhance control when only one boot is secured, such as during ski lift transitions. Prepare alcohol and a hairdryer for this task.
The top of a snowboard is smooth, while a stomp pad, with its textured design, grips the base of your boot. It's used for standing when you release your back foot from the binding. The pad simplifies holding the board with your boot. Often made from rubber, foam, knobs, or a combination, it is placed ahead of your back foot – between the bindings.
Guide to Attaching a Snowboard Stomp Pad
- Ensure the board and stomp pad are at room temperature (approx. 21 °C).
- Clean the area using rubbing alcohol. The area must stay clean, smooth, and dry; avoid touching it afterwards.
- Utilise a hairdryer on the hottest setting to warm both the snowboard's surface and the adhesive on the stomp pad (keep the hairdryer moving to prevent damage to the snowboard).
- Immediately place the stomp pad and press it down firmly. Stand on it without twisting – applying more weight yields better results.
- Let the stomp pad cure at room temperature for 24 hours.
