What Ski Boot Flex Should I Choose?
The boot flex indicates the amount of resistance the boot offers when leaning and pressing forward in a properly fitting alpine boot with slightly bent knees.
Essentially, the flex measures the boot's forward flexibility. Generally, the most commonly sold alpine ski boots have the following flex ratings: Men between 80-130 and women between 65-110.
Please note that this chart serves as a guideline, and some skiers may not fit this guide due to specific preferences, skills, or weight. The suggested flex numbers vary within a range of 10-25.
If you're looking to progress with these boots, opt for a boot in the higher range or even above the recommended chart. Beginners should select a lower number within the range or even below the suggested values.
This chart does not account for the fact that the flex indication is not standardized and can vary between brands. Additionally, changes in temperature will affect the ski boot flex experience.
Below is a guide table to help you choose the right flex that suits you best.
