Guide to Installing HIC Compression
Hidden Integrated Compression, abbreviated as HIC, is a system explained in this video by our scooter expert, Jonas, who will instruct you on the proper installation of HIC compression.
Initial step: Fitting your fork and headset
- Begin by taking the first bearing and placing it onto the fork
- Insert the fork into the head tube found on your deck
- Take the other bearing and position it in the upper bearing cup
- Install the C-ring into the headset
- Attach the top cap of the headset
Next step: Setting up the HIC scooter compression
- Position the shim on the fork's top
- Proceed by taking your HIC top cap and screwing it on
- Keep tightening until secure. Great job!
Grease: Greasing metal parts during assembly can simplify the process and also prolong the lifespan of your components. When setting up HIC compression, it might be beneficial to apply a small quantity of grease to both the bearing cups as well as the threads on your HIC top cap.
