Kids Helmets for Inline & Roller Skating
Should My Children Wear a Skate Helmet?
Whether your child is just beginning to skate or has been at it for a while, a skate helmet for children is seen as the most crucial piece of protection. A kids' helmet can safeguard your loved ones from a severe brain or head injury.
Unlike a bike helmet, children's skate helmets fully cover the back of the head to prevent injuries when falling backwards on skates. They include additional protective foam beneath the hard plastic shell and interchangeable padding straps for the best fit.
How to Select the Right Skate Helmet for Children
A skate helmet must fit snugly all over the head. The helmet should neither be too big nor shift around, as it might become misaligned during a fall. Conversely, a helmet that is overly tight can lead to discomfort and headaches. To determine the correct size, be sure to measure your children’s heads. Use a soft measuring tape to measure the head circumference of your kids just above their eyes and ears. Additionally, make sure to review the sizing guide for each model, given that each manufacturer designs its helmets with slight variations.
All children's skate helmets available in this section are certified for skating, regardless of the style your child chooses. Within the product descriptions, you’ll find the most common certification labels: EN, CPSC, and ASTM. In simple terms, if the helmet holds one or more of these certifications, it is safe for roller and inline skating, as well as skateboarding.
