The Alienation Venus Planetary Freecoaster/Cassette is a hub incorporating Planetary technology. It produces a crisp sound and engages immediately, yet it allows the wheel to roll freely when pedalling backwards. In essence, Planetary hubs combine the favoured characteristics of cassettes and freecoasters into one hub. With this hub, assembling a very robust wheel with 36 spokes is achievable. Hubs with male axles such as this are secured to the dropouts using a nut.

The Alienation Venus Planetary hub operates as a freecoaster but provides the sensation and sound of a cassette hub. It utilises a Planetary Clutch system that significantly minimises slack. The hub axle is constructed from hollow heat-treated 4140 Chromoly, while the shell is crafted from 6061-T6 alloy. This results in a weight reduction of around 30% compared to typical freecoaster hubs, without compromising strength or functionality.
