Description
Youth Gone Wild's titanium bar series offers a stiffness-to-weight ratio akin to steel bars, yet with only half the molecular density. This results in titanium bars being nearly as light as aluminium while maintaining the same strength as steel. The foremost advantage of titanium is its elongation and tensile strength capabilities. These attributes make titanium bars notably flexible compared to those made of steel or aluminium, while also contributing to their durability. Titanium has the ability to flex back to its original shape rather than bending permanently.
When considering the cost and mechanical properties of these titanium bars, they are mainly recommended for riders with a particular level of expertise. A minimum of intermediate to pro skill is advised. This is because, if used incorrectly, they can break like bars made from other materials.
The Flight bar is a reinforced T-bar with strengthening gussets precisely where the top section connects to the downtube. It weighs slightly less than the Digger bar, at only 763 grams. This bar is oversized with an outer diameter of 35mm and is prepped for SCS compression.
